Steroid Q&A On Anabol & Preloaded Syringes

How to Dose Anabol

Can you tell me how often to take my Anabol? I take 40 milligrams daily. Should I spread this out through the day, or just take it in morning? What do you suggest?

To be honest, there has never been a definitive study conducted on this. We’re really guessing here. Frankly, I expect such details to be extremely difficult to tease out of a study if it were ever attempted. After all, we’re trying to figure out which method of administering the same exact dose of the same exact, potent anabolic drug to be, well, more anabolic. Not an easy study to build, I think.

There is a clear technical trade-off between “single episode” and divided dosing. It is one between consistency and peak. Taking the pills several times per day makes the blood levels steadier, but the maximum steroid concentration in the blood is lower. Likewise, single-episode dosing will give you the highest peak, but levels will vary more. Anecdotally, I’ve found single-episode dosing in the morning to be the better option. But this is an opinion based on observation only. There are plenty of people who will disagree, I suspect.

Honestly, having been around these drugs for so many years, I’ve come to regard this as one of the “splitting hairs” discussions. The differences are probably so slight here that it isn’t worth spending a whole lot of time speculating about. Try it one way … then try it another if you run a cycle with orals again. Over time, you’ll probably develop your own preference. Or more likely, you’ll just pick one and stick with it, giving up on thinking about it (probably good advice).

Preloaded Syringes

My buddy and I are going to split a cycle. We both have crazy work schedules, though. The best thing for us to do is split the gear up front, instead of trying to get together to share. The trouble is, one of the bottles is a big 30-milliliter jug of testosterone. Would it be safe for me to preload a bunch of syringes for my half, and use them through the cycle? This will be for about six to eight weeks of it.

This is probably not the best idea. There are two issues with this. The first involves sterility. You’ve handled the syringes, and exposed the steroid solution to air. Now you are going to let them sit. To be fair, this is sort of the same thing once you open any multidose vial. You’ve broken the seal and introduced bacteria. You can’t avoid this unless you live in a clean room. The pesky stuff is everywhere. Your solution undoubtedly has antimicrobial agents, though, which slows bacterial growth. With that in mind, I can’t really say that a carefully loaded syringe is any more of a bacteria pit than the bottle itself would be. But there is more handling and room for error.

There is another problem, though, that most don’t think about. What is the interaction between the steroid solution and the syringe components? You see, before the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves any drug product, the drug itself must not only be proven acceptably safe for use, but the container’s stability with the drug in it needs to be studied as well. We need to be sure the solution doesn’t break down the components, leaching potentially dangerous substances into the solution. Remember, ampules are entirely glass. Vials are glass with an inert rubber stopper. Syringes are largely made of plastics. At this time, I am unaware of any studies looking at AAS oils and how they interact with plastic syringes for long-term storage. This is just an unknown to me. I can’t suggest it is OK.

Also, there is one thing to add before I let you go. I have to point out that “best practices” in 2017 do dictate you toss a multidose vial four weeks after it is open. Frankly, though, people have been using multidose jugs like these (until empty) for decades. I can’t say I’ve ever known clean gear to become problematic on week five or six or eight. Infections were extremely uncommon “back in my day.” But best practices are best practices, and I did want to mention it.

Good luck with your cycle, and of course, scheduling. If you do choose to preload any of the testosterone out of perceived necessity, my suggestion would be to keep the duration as short as possible. The longer you leave the solution sitting in the plastic, the more leaching of components you can expect, assuming there is such an interaction here. If I do come across any more detailed study of this, I will be sure to review it for you. I’m kind of curious myself.
