Jay Cutler
managed to overcome a less-than-stellar performance at Friday night's
prejudging to pick up his second consecutive Sandow statue, along with $155,000
in prize money.
Friday, September 28.
The 2007 Mr Olympia prejudging can best be described as "unpredictable";
in the sense that precontest favorites, Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler, find
themselves trailing the competition going into tomorrow night's finals.
The sales pitch for Las
Vegas tourism is that "whatever happens in Vegas,
stays in Vegas".
But the results of the 2007 edition of the Ms. Olympia held
once again at the Orleans Arena on September 28th is already
spreading quickly with news of Iris Kyle winning her fourth Ms. Olympia title.
My plane landed a little before 11 am today. As soon as the wheels hit the tarmac I turned on my cell phone and hit Veronicas number. Veronica is a mad hot little thing who puts the eek! In freak.
And let me tell you, my little friend is hooked up in Vegas which will come in handy as the week progresses - plus, shes not to hard on my eyes either. After what Ive been through lately a little Veronica was just what any sane doctor would order.
With the Olympia right around the corner, as you can imagine, my mailbox is full of "what if?" questions...meaning everyone is asking about their favorite scenario. What do I think will happen if Ronnie is right on the money? Can a Melvin Anthony physique win the Olympia? What does Victor need to do to win the Olympia? And the questions go on and on. So this month, I'll address some of the many scenarios and questions I've had thrown at me regarding the Olympia and I'll give you my take.
On June 28th, Phil Heath issued a statement in which he formally withdrew from this year’s Mr. Olympia contest, which he had qualified for by virtue of his fifth place at the Arnold Classic. Despite the fact that he clearly listed the reasons behind his decision, rumors and gossip began to fly. This is to be expected. I mean, what would bodybuilding be without gossip to keep things interesting? As his nutritionist and friend, many e-mails and phone calls were directed to me in hopes that I could confirm or deny these. The rumors ran the gamut, from Phil being injured and not wanting anyone to know about it, to his being afraid of competing against the top men in the sport. This month, I will set the record straight with the actual reasons Phil decided to sit out this year’s Olympia. In the end, you will see that it was actually a very wise and well thought-out move.
