matara.gifOn Monday November 5, it was reported that Mike Matarazzo suffered another heart attack. According to Matarazzo’s longtime friend, John Tuman, following the attack, Mike was hospitalized for a couple days during which time 4 stents were inserted into his blocked coronary vessels and a internal defibrillator was set in place to combat any future arrhythmias.  Mike is now home, resting, with his family in Modesto, California.

In December 2004, Mike was first diagnosed with blockages in his coronary blood vessels.  At the time, he underwent triple bypass surgery and was given a clean bill of health. According to Tuman, up until the recently, Mike had been running 5 miles a day and training hard in a local boxing gym.

Anyone who knows the tenacious character of Mike Matarazzo will attest to the fact that this latest setback will never rid the man with the “freakiest arms and calves” of his insatiable desire to overcome and beat the odds.  Everyone at Muscular Development would like to wish Mike a speedy recovery!
