2009 MHP KURT ANGLE ULTIMATE TEEN MACHINE CHALLENGE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 11/9/09

The 2009 MHP Kurt Angle Ultimate Teen Machine Challenge was held last August 21st through 23rd at the Hilton Hotel in Pittsburgh. The fitness devoted charity event was a huge success. More than 200 teens competed for over $5,000 in cash and prizes to help support their local high school athletic programs or a charity of their choice.

Teenage men and women competed in teams of four competitors. They participated in four separate events. The 2009 Kurt Angle Challenge individual events were as follows:

1)   Total Gym Leverage Chin-Up: Each teen had one minute to complete as many chin-ups as possible using his or her body weight. The leverage equipment is designed to take a percentage of weight off each individual’s pull-up weight. The total chin-ups by all 4 teens on a team were calculated for an overall team score.

2)   Water Jug Carry: Each team member carried 8 5-gallon water jugs down a 40 foot course, placing them onto a pallet until full. After the pallet was full another team member transferred them back to the finish line. Each team member had to run the course. This was a timed event.

3)    Shuttle Run. Each team member was required to run a 20 yard up-and-back shuttle two times, for their best times.

4)    Tire Flip Competition: Each team member has to precisely flip a large or medium size truck tire down a 40 foot course to a finish line. The fastest times placed.
