Arnold Classic Europe

Battle in Madrid - October 13, 2012

Arnold Classic Madrid

Contest coverage presented by Betancourt Nutrition & MUSCULARDEVELOPMENT.COM

With the 2012 Arnold Madrid just a few days away, 2012 continues to be a stellar year for bodybuilding fans. Toney Freeman, Roelly Winklaar, Shawn Rhoden, and Dennis Wolf are set to faceoff once again in Spain. That’s just a scratch on the surface of this roster, which also includes the likes of Hidetada Yamagishi, Ed Nunn, and Johnnie Jackson.

With last year’s champion, Victor Martinez, out of the competition, we will see a new champ. If Shawn Rhoden kept his Olympia condition, there is no doubt we will see him in the top callout. Toney Freeman has been gunning for him all year long, but will be coming in just one week off his third place finish in India. Time will tell if he can hold his condition for a third week in a row.

Dennis Wolf opted not to do the Sheru to come in sharp for this show. He was just shy of his best in Vegas, so he’s had just enough time to sharpen up for Spain. If he has, we’ll likely see Rhoden and Wolf in a battle for the title.

The reigning Fitness and Figure Olympia champs, Adela Garcia and Erin Stern, will be on hand at Spain, and it’s hard to imagine that anyone could beat either. Adela will have fan favorite, Oksana Grishina, on her heels. Oksana took second in Vegas and improves with every show. Erin’s most likely competition will come from Candice Keene. Candice took third at both the Olympia and the Sheru Classic and looks to move up to second here with Nicole Wilkins not in the mix.
