Lou Ferrigno Joins Forces with Muscular Development

Exclusive New MD Column and Online Content to Come

Muscular Development is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Lou Ferrigno, who will author an exclusive column in Muscular Development. MD.com will also regularly feature tons of online content with the incredible Lou.

Lou Ferrigno continues to be an ambassador of bodybuilding 40 years after appearing in the groundbreaking documentary “Pumping Iron.” Lou is the only bodybuilder to win two consecutive IFBB Mr. Universe titles, and the youngest bodybuilder to win Mr. Universe. After the role that launched Lou into superstardom, “The Incredible Hulk,” more acting gigs followed. In the early ‘90s at the age of 40, Lou made a remarkable comeback after being gone from the competitive arena for 17 years. Most recently, Lou was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame at the 2017 Arnold Classic.

The bodybuilding icon, TV and film star, who is second in notoriety only to Arnold Schwarzenegger, is among the elite group of bodybuilders who helped put the sport on the map. A true believer in the lifelong benefits of bodybuilding, Lou continues to be inspiration to millions across the globe.

In addition, Lou has connected with Chris Minnes and his son Lou Ferrigno Jr. to create the Ferrigno Legacy, a bodybuilding show focused on giving competitors a first-class experience. This year’s show takes place on Nov. 18 and 19 in Palm Springs, California.

“MD has been a huge supporter of the Ferrigno Legacy’s growth,” said Ferrigno Legacy Promoter Chris Minnes. “We have the best venues, best athletes, best sponsors; it only makes sense that we partner with the best bodybuilding media group. The Ferrigno Legacy is now the biggest show on the West Coast, so we are excited to have a partner like MD who can deliver the event to the world. The Ferrigno Legacy and Muscular Development share a ‘competitor first’ ethic that makes this a perfect partnership.”

MD editor and publisher Steve Blechman said, “I am pleased and honored that MD is partnering with ‘Big Lou’ Ferrigno. Lou has endured as an icon in the industry, and he continues to be a favorite among bodybuilding fans after 40 years. I am confident that his unparalleled knowledge of bodybuilding and its history will be of tremendous interest to our readers and will take our content a giant step forward, as we strive to deliver the best and most colorful bodybuilding product in the business. We are also looking forward to working with and promoting the Ferrigno Legacy with Lou, Lou Ferrigno Jr. and Chris Minnes.”

Steve Blechman and MD have been an important part of our sport and I look forward to contributing to their effort with this column, where I will discuss what worked for me both in training and achieving the champion mindset. I hope sharing my experiences will help the next generation achieve their dreams as I did.”
