Pandemic Relief: Bombshells to the Rescue

2020 has certainly been a very strange and often challenging year for all of us. In both good times and bad, MD is here for you – not just as bodybuilding’s number one multimedia destination, but also to soothe your senses and improve your mindset with some of the most beautiful and fit women in the industry. The gorgeous ladies showcased this month serve as proof that the sun is still shining and better times are coming.

Statuesque and shapely Étila Santiago Santos, on the cover this month, kicks things off. Étila’s breathtaking beauty was captured by cover photographer extraordinaire Jason Ellis. The IFBB Pro League Bikini division is full of astonishingly beautiful women, but for any one of them to stand out in such an alluring group means that woman is among the elite. With her cascading curls and flawless features, Étila was able to score three wins in her rookie season as a Bikini pro before earning eighth place at the Bikini Olympia. She also placed fifth at the 2020 Arnold Classic, and many people thought she deserved to place higher. That’s where Étila turned heads, and many in the industry noticed her. Learn more about this stunning young woman who has proven to be a major distraction at the Olympia in “Étila Santiago SantosBrazilian Bikini Bombshell.”

The joys of summer continue with our “2020 Swimsuit Special: Showcasing the IFBB Pro League’s Top Bikini Women.” We have assembled the world’s top IFBB Pro League Bikini women, Olympia and Arnold Classic champs all, because no matter what, it’s still summer and stunning, fit women in bikinis will always be a bright light of inspiration. Special thanks to ace physique photographer J.M. Manion for providing the photographs for our swimsuit spectacular.

If there is one thing that bodybuilders will never take for granted ever again after the Great Covid-19 Quarantine of 2020, it’s the gym. Being on lockdown has changed our perspective and given us a new appreciation for home gyms, the availability of bodybuilding food, traveling to bodybuilding contests and the camaraderie we enjoy training with our friends. What’s in store when we return to the gym? Ron Harris looks at“Bodybuilding After Quarantine:How Will It Change?”

Spring 2020 saw gyms all over the world locking their doors for months while health and government officials struggled to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. That made the process of getting lean for summer this year very different, as many people did not have access to certain clean food and were stuck at home with no gym. Summer is here, whether you’re ready for it or not, and MD has your comprehensive plan to get ripped in “Seven Keys to Summer Shreds! Post-quarantine Edition.”

From his first 212 Olympia win in 2012, fans have all speculated how Flex Lewis might do at his biggest and best onstage with the big boys, with absolutely NO weight restrictions. In “Flex Appeal 2020,” Giles Thomas takes us through the stunning career of the seven-time 212 Mr. Olympia as Flex prepares for the 2020 Mr. Olympia as an open competitor. Giles asked Flex if he had ever brought his best look to the competitive stage, and he replied: “No, I haven’t Giles, not once.”

Chest has always been a prized muscle group in our sport, and some of the best pectoral development ever witnessed has belonged to Mr. O Champs like Arnold, Sergio, Franco, Samir, Haney, and Ronnie. When Brandon Curry won the 2019 Mr. Olympia, he too displayed some of the most impressive pecs you could ever imagine: thick, full, and round from top to bottom and side to side. Brandon was gifted in some muscle groups, but chest was not one of them. Learn how he turned that around in “Mr. Olympia Chest! How Brandon Curry Built His Armor-Plated Pecs.”

George Peterson was set to make his debut as a 212 competitor at this year’s New York Pro, until the quarantine hit and the show was postponed. But it takes more than a virus and quarantine to stop this raging bull! George rolled with the punches and kept training and improving to ensure he makes an impact this year in the 212 division. Get an update on this Redcon1 athlete in “George ‘Da Bull’ Peterson Charges Ahead: On Track for the New York Pro and Growing Into the 212 Class for the Mr. Olympia.”

Luke Sandoe’s untimely passing shocked the bodybuilding world. He is gone long before his time, a young man who in just those brief years made such an indelible impression on both those who knew him personally and those who only knew Luke the Juggernaut, the massive bodybuilder with unlimited potential. Even if you never met Luke Sandoe personally, he was able to communicate his unique personality and sense of humor so well in his videos, along with his brutal strength in training, that we all felt like we were his best mates, right there with him. His boundless potential was evident to all of us and to his extended family at Redcon1. Ron Harris, Giles Thomas, and Luke’s friends share memories of the young Brit who had a rare blend of dense muscle mass, structure, and shape that foreshadowed greatness to come in “Farewell, Juggernaut:Tribute to Luke Sandoe.”
