Your Body Needs Real Food to Grow

I have a question about nutrition. Having to work a very fast-paced, full-time job, I am always busy and don’t really have the time to sit down and eat a whole-food meal. Could you please give me advice in regards to what type of a shake I could be having every three hours if I can’t make it a whole-food meal? I still manage to get my training sessions in after work. It’s just that having that 10 minutes to have a quick meal is really a struggle at the moment.

You may want to check with your state labor board, because everyone is entitled to a lunch break plus a couple of shorter breaks in an eight-hour shift. I wonder what job you have that doesn’t even allow you 10 minutes where you could eat a small meal? I’ve been drinking Nitro-Tech protein shakes for over 10 years now. When I want it to be more substantial, I would blend in a banana or some strawberries. I’ve heard of guys who will have a cup of nuts with shakes, too. Shakes are much better than nothing, but you really shouldn’t be going all day at work just having shakes. Ideally, even with a busy job, you would have a shake on your first short break, a solid meal at lunch, and another shake on your second short break. Your body needs food. Otherwise, I hate to tell you this, but you’ll never see the results you want from what you’re doing in the gym.

Hard Rock and Metal: Music to My Ears

From your training videos, it seems like you prefer hard rock and metal to train to. But what type of music do you listen to at other times, like relaxing at home or driving?

I listen to all kinds of stuff from classic rock, to country, top 40, hip-hop, whatever. When I’m not in the gym, I never listen to hard rock and metal. To me, that’s the music that’s the soundtrack to workouts, to get pumped up for heavy lifting— so there’s no point in listening to it anywhere else.
