Steroid Lowdown On Anadrol, Nolvadex, Arimidex & Clenbuterol

Arimidex or Nolvadex With Anadrol?

I really liked the effects I was noticing from Anadrol, but had to stop my cycle short because I blew up. Literally. I became very puffy. But the mass was insane, so I want to use it again. Do you recommend Arimidex or Nolvadex next time?

I can appreciate what you are saying. It has been a long time myself, but I remember what Anadrol was like. Actually, I took this steroid (alone) for my first real cycle, so I’ll never forget. I gained over 20 pounds on it. I also became extremely puffy as well. I’m certain much of the weight I gained on that very formidable first cycle was water. Back then, we didn’t have Arimidex. I didn’t know about Nolvadex, either. I just took the steroid for 50 days and stopped, right about the time the side effects were getting to be too much.

Today, we have ready access to several different aromatase inhibitors. These types of drugs are usually most effective for estrogen management. Well, I said usually. With Anadrol, these drugs don’t do much. You see, with most “estrogenic” steroids, conversion (aromatization) to an active estrogen is the issue. But Anadrol doesn’t actually convert to estrogen. Instead, it acts (partially) as an estrogen itself. Remember the old “lock and key” analogy for how drugs work? Anadrol is a strong fit for the “androgen lock,” but also a moderate fit for the “estrogen lock.” So, there isn’t aromatization to target. Nolvadex does work for side effect mitigation, however, as it blocks the estrogen receptor. While I can’t “recommend” anything, I learned early on to have Nolvadex handy for any Anadrol cycles.

Clenbuterol Worth It?

I have a good mail-order source for clenbuterol. I like this idea, because I don’t think I’ll get in much trouble for using it if I’m caught. But what do you think? Is it any good? I mean, for muscle? Do you think I could gain 10 pounds on a cycle if I train and eat right?

Well, I’d say I have mixed feelings about the drug. First, let’s review a bit of what clenbuterol is and how it works. This drug belongs to the beta2-agonist class, activating a class of receptors known as beta2-adrenoceptors. These regulate a bunch of things relating to energy expenditure and metabolism. Human muscle is rich in beta2-adrenoceptors. Activation of these has been shown to trigger some of the transcription factors involved in muscle protein retention/gain. At least on paper, clenbuterol could increase the rate of protein synthesis, reduce protein catabolism and improve muscle regeneration after injury … classic “anabolic” stuff here.

When we get out of the books and into the real world, however, clenbuterol doesn’t seem to deliver. At least in terms of muscle growth, its effects are weak at best. I’ve used it a bunch of times myself, so I can speak from personal experience, and of course the feedback from many others I’ve consulted and trained with. If your goal is 10 pounds of muscle, I am confident saying that you should not expect such gain to be attributable to this drug alone.

Most bodybuilders who use clenbuterol favor it for two reasons and two reasons only. One, it is a decent long-acting stimulant. It provides a good kick of energy that is a bit more notable than moderate caffeine use. It is very similar to albuterol in this regard, but has a longer half-life. Two, beta-agonists (especially selective beta2-agonists) can be decent cutting agents. Your body gets used to their effects over time, but in the short term they can help shed extra body fat, especially if you are restricting calories. I rarely come across a bodybuilder who raves about the muscle-building power of clen. Then again, muscle growth is a very individual thing, and people respond to these drugs differently sometimes. Your mileage here could always vary … but I wouldn’t set my expectations high.
