2021 Indy Pro Finals Report

The season opener for Open and 212 Pro bodybuilding is in the books, and it was a day full of surprises and upsets

It kicked off with the 212 men. John Jewett, who has placed as high as fourth at the Olympia, was the favorite going in, and I honestly would’ve had no problem with him winning. But the victory went to a rookie from Nevada, Tonio Burton, making his pro debut here. Tonio was round and full, with a wide back and shoulders and a tiny waist. Runner-up was Nathan Epler from right here in Indiana, also taking the stage for the first time as a pro. Nathan has beautiful shape and symmetry and his condition was insane. Jewett was third, while yet another newcomer, Bryan Balzano, took fourth. Rounding out the top five was former Indy Pro 212 champ Noel Adame, who to my eyes should’ve been fighting for the win. He’s packed head to toe with thick, dense muscle, and he was shredded to the bone.

  1. 1.Tonio Burton
  2. 2.Nathan Epler
  3. 3.John Jewett
  4. 4.Bryan Balzano
  5. 5.Noel Adame

The Open division also had a few surprises. Out of the top five were the giant from France, Morgan Aste, and Dwayne Walker. As many predicted, Justin Rodriguez took the win after having been second and third place many times. He was round and brought crisp conditioning, so congratulations to Justin on his first Pro title. He was pushed hard by Russia’s Mohamad El Elam, who matched if not surpassed Justin in mass and conditioning. Justin has a smaller waist which probably gave him the edge. Third place went to Blessing Awodibu in his Pro debut. Blessing went into this contest with a great deal of expectations heaped on his shoulders, and I’m certain a lot of people will say he was overhyped. Nonetheless, he has an excellent upper body with beautiful shape and a tiny waist, and only needs to continue improving his legs to move up. Dorian Haywood nabbed fourth place with loads of full mass, and Texan Carlos Chapa was fifth. Honestly, I never heard of him before today, but he has a hell of a complete Physique. We will probably be seeing most of these guys next week in Tampa for the New York Pro.

  1. 1.Justin Rodriguez
  2. 2.Mohamad El Elam
  3. 3.Blessing Awodibu
  4. 4.Dorian Haywood
