Acne: How to Minimize It

When AAS Convert to DHT

By George Touliatos, MD

Q: I’ve been suffering a lot from acne on my back, shoulders, and also on my forehead. How can I resolve this?

A: You need to understand that AAS induce acne, throughout their conversion to DHT. Acne is DHT induced because this hormone is responsible for sebum production. This oily substance makes skin more elastic. However, under overproduction, it may trap bacteria and then inflammation develops. In order to minimize acne, you need to follow certain steps:

1) Quit the DHT derivatives (Winstrol, Anavar, Primobolan, Masteron, Proviron) and strong androgens (Halotestin, trenbolone, M3).

2) You can block DHT, in case you only use testosterone, with finasteride/dutasteride.

3) Use high doses of anti-inflammatory vitamin A, retinol (25,000). Retinoic acid is the active ingredient of the most potent medication against acne (Accutane).

4) Use high doses of zinc (50mg) for wound healing.

5) Take DHA/EPA (1gr) with each meal to ensure anti-inflammatory result.

6) Clean the spots with purified alcohol 95%

7) Use detergent soaps and exfoliating creams.

8) Sun and seawater can dry the skin and improve the overall result.

9) Avoid trans fat and sugar, the perfect substrate for inflammation. After all, it’s not a myth that chocolate can trigger acne. It’s loaded with sucrose and saturated fatty acids (SFAs). Instead, consume plenty of vegetables and fresh fruits that are plentiful in antioxidants.

10) Hydrate a lot to eliminate toxins.

11) Medications that can help are azelaic acid 10% and clindamycin lotion applied locally after the alcohol application.
